NEEDS MAX / JAY: Flooring: confirm which types Max lays. Solid, engineered, laminate and LVT are all different skills and some carpenters only do two of them. Also confirm whether he does external work (decking, gates, fascias) because none of that is on the site at the moment.

Panelling and feature walls

Slatted panelling has gone from nowhere to everywhere in a couple of years, and done properly it changes a room more cheaply than almost anything else. Done badly it looks like it was stuck on, which it usually was.

The difference is in the setting out: the slats spaced so the run finishes on a full one rather than a sliver, the ends returned into the wall, and the sockets and switches cut in cleanly rather than worked around.

Small jobs

No job too small, and I mean it

Some customers start with one small job and come back later for the wardrobes. One of mine has had me working in two different houses.

If you have a list of small things, put them all in one message. It is usually cheaper and far less disruptive to do six little jobs in one visit than to book six visits.
