I am Max Barraclough. For over 10 years I have been building wardrobes, fitted furniture and joinery that fits the room it is in, rather than the other way round. Every job is measured, made and finished by hand.

Three kinds of job, one pair of hands
Most of my work is bespoke furniture, and nearly all of that is storage. The rest is everything else a house needs a carpenter for, from a panelled feature wall to a door that has never shut properly.

Understairs storage, media walls, alcove cupboards, home office desks, kitchens, bathroom cabinets and radiator covers. If it is fixed to the wall, it can be made to fit.

First and second fix, wall panelling, doors hung and eased, wood and laminate floors laid, skirting and architrave, and the small jobs nobody else will come out for.

Anyone can show you a nice photograph of a finished wardrobe. What my customers write about is what it was like having me in the house.
- You get an answer. Enquiries are acknowledged within a day, usually sooner.
- I turn up when I said I would. If something changes, you hear it from me first.
- The room is clear at the end of every day. You live there. I am only visiting.
- I will tell you what will work. Often that means suggesting something better than the thing you first asked for.

I am Max Barraclough. There is no call centre, no salesman on commission and no subcontractor you have never met turning up on the first morning. You deal with me from the first phone call to the last coat of paint. On bigger jobs I bring a small team, and they work to the same standard.
That is the whole business, and it is deliberate. It is also why every review on this site uses my name rather than the company's.
